Getting your project started
Many of our clients are not sure where to start when it comes to their construction project. At Ballanytne Builders, we understand the importance of ensuring you get what you want from your project - no matter how large or small. That's why it's important there is a clear understanding between you and your builder about what the proposed works entail.
Do you have plans drawn up? No, that's fine.
We're happy to meet with you to discuss your ideas for your project. If you don't yet have plans drawn up, it's helpful if you have a good idea of what you are considering. To give you the best advice, we'd like to understand what you want to acheive, your priorities and your wish list. We'll give you honest answers to your questions and let you know what is acheivable within your budget. We can then refer you to one of our preferred designers and architects, or work with your chosen supplier.
Drafts person, building designer, architect or interior designer?
For larger projects, you will need to engage the services of a professional to draw up your plans. The type of supplier that you select will generally depend on the size and scope of your project and also how clear you are on what you want done. We're happy to guide you and suggest the types of suppliers that are best suited to help you acheive your dream home or renovation.
Are your plans complete? Great, we'd be happy to provide you with a fixed price quote.
If your plans are drawn up, we're able to provide you with a fixed price cost for your project. In order to put together an accurate costing, you'll generallly need to supply us with a full set of plans, engineered drawings, and specifications for materials such as external finishes, internal fixtures and finishes (including flooring), window and door schedules and electrical layouts.
Town planning, surveyors, building permits and red tape.
Your project. Completed.
We recommend that your building project be designed to meet local council guidelines, so that you can avoid the costly (and often time consuming) process of obtaining council approvals (often referred to as town planning). We can guide you through the process of obtaining building permits, avoiding red tape and coordinate building surveyors so we can get started on your building project as soon as possible.
Let's get started.
Prior to commencing any work, we will always have a contract in place - depending on the size and scope of the project this may simply be a signed acceptance of a quote, or may be a more detailed contract outlining inclusions, exclusions, scope of work, payment schedules, timelines and any other relevant information. Once your project has commenced, you can expect regular updates and communication from your project manager as to how the works are progressing.
Upon completion of your beautiful new home or renovation, will will obtain a certificate of occupancy, and you will be able to move back in. Our work is guaranteed by builders warranty insurance.
